SilverFox Series
When I started CrossFit I was so excited! I was doing pretty well, or so I thought, and wanted to enter a competition after a few months. I found myself in a winter NLI event, having lots of fun, but working against competitors who had been training years longer than me. I immediately thought about holding events having both Rx and Intermediate divisions.
I continued on my merry way, entering some comps, and giving back by volunteering to judge in several as well. I decided to do that after a horrible judging experience as a competitor. I ended up being a head judge at the OCT. As I was commiserating with Ron Althouse the year the OCT decided not to have a Masters division, he joked "why don't you hold an event?". I went home and release SilverFox a few days later. To date, there have been 2 SilverFox events at Red Wolf CrossFit and one advanced SilverFox event held the OC Fairgrounds as an adjunct to the OCT. This is all due to the awesome masters community having a desire to compete and their belief in someone holding a comp, as well as the amazing volunteers and companies who have stood beside me and helped me.
